Our goal with the Original Craftsman Bungalow was to create an efficient plan suitable for various household sizes and styles. Our plan essentially pairs down the number of rooms to what we most use on a daily basis. We provided a spacious and welcoming foyer with a powder room, a large and central family room with fireplace and coffered ceiling. The family room flows into a larger island based kitchen with an adjacent dining area. Off the foyer we located an extra room for use as a study/den for some households or as a playroom for households with small children. The second level features a master bedroom with large walk-in closet & private bath along with two additional bedrooms and a second full bath.

The rooms we eliminated – a separate dining room, formal living room and a fourth bedroom – are all nice to have, but how often are they really used in the majority of today’s households? With space at a premium; increasing costs to heat, maintain, insure and pay real estate taxes on - we thought they were reasonable deletions and it allowed to better detail the remaining space.
